Salford Museum and Art Gallery

I decided to create a space which will attract all ages of the audience and allow them to explore the new space which will be bright and cosy as well as very modern and clean. I have used biophilic design to bring Peel Park into the space and create a 'natural' environment inside. In my design, I have incorporated multiple technologies such as speakers, digital screens and projectors which will be used to bring the sounds and images of nature into the new gallery space, these will flow on the curved wave which I created from the shapes of Peel Park.

The wave has been designed to guide users through the space as well as an additional wall for art exhibitions. The new spiral staircase allows access to both the mezzanine level and the first floor. I have kept the mezzanine level in place and have given it a new, modern look by adding glass bannisters to make it feel like its floating in the air, this will give the users a feeling of freedom, fear as well as excitement.
