Reception desk design

I have designed a reception desk to represent the building I have been studying in, I wanted to make my design fun and reflective to all the creative design students in the building. I came up with the idea of a book structure as all of us use books in our studies. I used books to try different shapes to help me visualise and sketch my preferred design. I used my sketches and drew everything to scale in AutoCAD which I then transferred into SketchUp to make my 3D model. 

I think my design is original and sits well with the New Adelphi building, I used materials that can be found in the building such as concrete, wood and metal to make it feel like the reception has been here from the beginning.
