I had some leftover fabric from a previous project I had done and decide to make a bed for my cat that is simple but goes with my room. The things I used in this project:
-Pencil
-Measuring tape
-Pink velvet fabric
-Sewing machine
-Polyester stuffing
-Old cushion cover
-Zipper or button (optional)
1. The first thing I did was draw a rectangle to see if it was big enough for my cat, this is the sleeping area for my cat and it worked out to be 45cm x 35cm as my cat is quite small.

2. I then measured 4 more rectangles around each of the sides of the bin one which was 20cm tall (these will be the sides of the bed) which I will fill with stuffing so they will flatten and be smaller.

3. The next step is to sew the edges of the smaller rectangle to create the base of the bed and the sides. Next, I sew together the small rectangles together to create a tunnel that I will stuff with polyester stuffing. to give the bed some shape, I then sew over the 4 edges to make it a rectangle shape.

4. The last step is to make the cushion to go inside the bed, this is very simple and quick to do, I already know the bed is 45x35 cm, so I cut a rectangle 90cm x 35cm, flipped it onto the left side and sew the 3 edges together to create an envelope, I then took my zipper and sew it to the open edge of the fabric. I flipped the fabric around, took my old cushion cover and filled it with my polyester filling. I placed the cushion inside my velvet cover and that's it!

My cat loves this bed, it's super soft and the perfect size for her, I put it on the floor by the radiator and she loves snoozing in this!
