We have just returned from a great holiday in the dominical republic and I thought I'd share some of the great architecture that I have never seen before.

The whole hotel was open, there were no walls or windows in the main areas such as reception, walkways or restaurants, the open space meant that you could see the beautiful resort from every angle and area you were in. there was also a great ocean view from most of the main spots in the resort. The architecture of the buildings was very natural, the roofs of the communal areas were covered with natural dried parm leaves and hand twisted into shape. It was so spectacular to look at as the places were huge! I cannot even imagine how much time it must have taken the workers to complete these roofs.
