Applying for work experience

This week I have been emailing and calling multiple showrooms and designers to ask about work placement. most of the companies I have been contacting via phone have asked me to email them or have given me an email address I can contact regarding this.

I was surprised as not as many places I thought offer work experience or they are not currently offering it due to the spread of the virus. some companies have asked me to get in touch again when it is safe to work and they would be happy to offer work experience then.
