I decided to go ahead and reupholster and repaint this little stool I found on gumtree for free! I used a varnish stripper to get most of the old varnish off the legs, some bits were harder to get off so used a sander and it worked great. After cleaning the wood, I primed it and began painting. It only took 2 coats to get good coverage. I removed the seat from the wooden base and got rid of the old red velvet and foam underneath as is was not in the best condition. I already had leftover foam pieces from previous projects so I did not need to buy any. I used some carpet glue to glue it onto the wood piece and let it dry whilst I got on with sewing the fabric for the seat. I had to watch a few tutorials so know where to start. It was actually quite simple and only took a few hours to complete!
